Details	Found a tan colored/blonde older dog. He/she may be blind. The dog was friendly and is obviously someone's pet. We had a hard time getting the animal out of the road and getting traffic to stop. While we were trying to do this, s driver hit the dog. The driver was moving very slowly and the animal did not cry out. He/she let us touch her to check her for injury, but we saw no outward signs. We convinced the dog to come to us by having her/him eat some cat food (we were just coming back from the grocery store)and he/she was able to walk just fine. After asking people in the neighborhood if they knew the dog, we took him/her to the Salem animal shelter.
Location	He/she was walking in the road on Salem Turnpike around 9:30 Saturday night.
